John Elliott is President of Southern Building Group, an accomplished business professional, uses his operational talents to oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of The Southern Group as well as its construction arm, Southern Building Group. With extensive experience in a diverse portfolio of projects, John has participated in every phase of Construction and Real Estate development. Committed and knowledgeable, he is dedicated to delivering customer service and personal attention towards every project.  After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, John gained valuable business training while working for the likes of Universal Constructors and Lincoln Property Company, and later an extensive career in all aspects of construction and development operations. John applied his talent and positive attitude to propel his business career in construction and development. His energy and experience are key ingredients in Southern Group’s success.


Chad Gilbert uses his leadership abilities to identify and secure business and real estate opportunities for The Southern Group and its related companies. A key partner in various complex development projects, Chad’s expertise is valued by business clients large and small. Experienced and respected, he is committed to ensuring the success of every project with which he’s involved.  Chad Gilbert is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Civil Engineering. His career started with W&O Construction Company, where he honed his building skills and then went on to be a founding member of Putnam Contracting Services, Putnam Properties and numerous other companies. He is innovative and forward-thinking in his approach to the Construction, Development and Real Estate industry.  


Martin Ing has been a leader in construction and real estate for twenty years.  He is analytical with proven successes in project management and business operations.   Martin was a founding member of the construction company Putnam Contracting Services, which focuses on municipal infrastructure and underground utilities.  He is an active partner in The

Southern Group and Putnam Properties, Real estate Development and Property Management companies in middle Tennessee, managing diverse portfolios of their own and third party managed properties.  They engage in all stages of the development cycle and have successfully developed and built numerous Multi-Family communities.   Martin was born in England and studied Engineering and Economics at Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford.  He came to Tennessee over twenty years ago as a Mechanical Engineer working for a UK Engineering group and ultimately made middle Tennessee his home.  He has always believed that Engineering and aesthetic standards can co-exist with the commercial realities of industry and takes an interest in all enterprises that improve the quality of the built environment.

Krystal Reasonover

Krystal Reasonover contributes over fourteen years of award winning property management experience to her role as Director of Property Management to The Southern Group, LLC. She began her collegiate educational career at a local college before pursuing a two-year career as a Southwest flight attendant where she gained valuable skills in customer service. She began working in the multifamily industry in 2004, quickly rising to the managerial position while overseeing properties managed by SWH Residential and later by RAM Properties. She oversees all aspects of property management that includes direct leadership for our Property Management Teams. Mrs. Reasonover’s strengths include development and monitoring of company policies and procedures related to property management, responsible for recruitment, training and development of high quality team members, and supervision of Property Managers as well as comprehensive customer service support. She is a high achiever who can successfully maintain a constructive and highly interactive relationship with other company departments to maximize portfolio value and streamline reporting for investors.  She has extensive experience with new construction and lease-ups communities as well as managing established properties. Her experience with all asset types including mid-rise, garden and mixed use developments allows her to coordinate effective managerial strategies that lead to high revenue results. Mrs. Reasonover is dedicated to continuing education to stay current upon marketing trends and she obtained her Real Estate license to further her business acumen.
